Humor e Genialidade A história da caricatura recua quase até aos primórdios da humanidade. Esta galeria de honra poderia começar aí, com algumas das figuras grotescas e hilariantes que chegaram até nós. Recuámos apenas até alguns séculos e, emblematicamente, fixámo-nos no século XIX, século luminoso da imprensa em que a arte da caricatura atingiu os píncaros. Foi também a época de ouro da litografia, técnica de gravura que contribuiu, de forma significativa, para a massificação do desenho humorístico. Os principais autores da época estão aqui representados. Outros virão, periodicamente. De Hogarth e Goya a Daumier, algumas obras geniais mostram a grande força da linguagem universal do cartoon. Humour and Geniality The caricature history goes backwards almost until the mankind origin. This honour gallery could begin with that, with some of the grotesque and hilarious figures. We went backwards only some centuries and in an emblematic way we have fixed us on the 19th century, as a brilliant century for the press in which the caricature art had reached its top. This was the golden age for the lithography, an engraving technique that contributed in a most significant way, to the influence of the humoristic drawing. That time most important authors are represented in this gallery. Another will be, periodically, from Hogarth to Goya and Daumier, some genial works will show the strength of the universal language of cartoon. To sum up: is the humour excellence on the pencils of geniality. |
